This is an instrument transposition chart.  Each note is numbered to make it easier to find the correct note for an instrument pitched differently.  Not all instruments are included, nor are all of the pitches, but these are the biggies!  See bottom of page for more information.

C Pitched Instruments

(Also called Concert Pitch)

General:   All keyboards, voice, mallet percussion, and strings.
Woodwinds:   Piccolo, Flute, Bass Flute, Contrabass Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, and Contrabassoon.
Brass:   Cornet, Trumpet, and Tuba.

B-FLAT Pitched Instruments

Woodwinds:   Bb Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Soprano Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, and Bass Saxophone.
Brass:   Bb Cornet, Bb Trumpet, Flugelhorn, Tenor Trombone, Bass Trombone, Euphonium, Baritone, Sousaphone, and Bb Tuba.

Woodwinds:   Eb Clarinet, Alto Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone.
Brass:   Bass Trumpet, Alto Trombone.

If you have a part in concert pitch (C) that you want to transpose to any (or all) other pitches for other intruments, just find the same note number in the scale that you need and you're done.  Here are some guidelines:

B-flat instruments transpose to a Major 2nd (M2) below C.
E-flat instruments transpose to a minor 3rd (m3) below C.
F instruments transpose to a Perfect 5th (P5) above C.
