Marie Rogers

April 23, 1928 - January 11, 2004

Marie Bussey Rogers, 75, died Sunday evening, January 11, 2004, at her residence.  The Charlton County native lived in Clayton County, Georgia, for 25 years and moved to Reidsville in 1977.  She was a U. S. Navy veteran, serving in World War II.  She was retired from Rich’s Department Store and Hill Shopping Center.

She is survived by her husband, Sankey Cecil Rogers III of Reidsville; two sons, Larry Wayne Rogers, Sr., of Canton, Georgia, and Sankey Cecil Rogers IV of Orange Park, Florida; one sister, Kathryne Bussey of Waycross; one brother, Kerry “Ben” Bussey of Blountstown, Florida; five grandchildren: Martelle Marie Rogers, Eric Mitchell Rogers, Candice L. Leath, Jason C. Kennedy, and Larry Wayne Rogers, Jr.; and three great-grandchildren: Cody Chatman, Kayla Chatman, and Justin Leath.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, in the chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Hudson officiating.  Interment will be in Reidsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Russ Rhoden; Mark Durrence; Sankey Cecil Rogers IV; Jason Kennedy; Larry W. Rogers, Sr.; and Larry W. Rogers, Jr.

Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home of Reidsville, Georgia, is in charge of the arrangements.
